i dined here back in early december with a group of about 12. we stopped in for a bite after attending an event at the museum of american cocktail in the riverwalk. we didnt have reservations so it was nice of the staff to accomodate us but then it was again monday so it wasnt too busy in there. i had the gumbo. its not your normal dark roux gumbo but it was hearty and delicious. i like this place you can get a great burger for under $10 dollars and get your harrah's parking garage ticket validated for that price if you are not a gambler.

I'm surprised to see such low reviews but of course I was skeptical to go to GB in the first place since it's a chain. I've gone twice now for happy hour and ya can't beat it. Really unique cocktails all for $5 and tasty apps for either $5 or $7. I enjoy the bartenters too. They once brought us the wrong food and quickly remade our order and let us keep the mess up. Just more time for another drink! I'll definitely be going back.

Very difficult place for me to ever go back to. The facility is awesome. However, the bar is grossly understaffed - they had two bartenders for a busy Sunday football crowd. They were working hard but still took about 15 minutes to get a drink. Servers are typically also harried and rude. We asked for a table and they said wait was about 45 minutes despite us counting at least 10 totally empty tables in the restaurant. Doesn't appear as though management is really that interested in the customer.

If I could give this restaurant a -10 stars I would. This is the worst place to eat. Service was terrible and after an hour wait the food never arrived. Between the terrible service and poor placement of visual equipment gives this foodie the worst ever feedback given in history. I will never go back to this place and this location gives Gordon Bierch a bad name. They should hire new waiters and chefs to bring pride back to the name. I would never recommend this place!

My family and I came here to escape the madness of the french quarter, and it was delicious. The waiter was super friendly and really attentive and I absolutely loved my cajun pasta. Go there, try it, love it. I noticed that they have a giant party room too.

I don't even know how to start! We were a party of 6 with 2 (well behaved, well traveled) pre-teens and we were seated about 10 minutes and had given drink orders when a convention table of 13 men was seated next to us. No other tables near us had customers and we had to move our tAble over to give ourselves room to breathe. The waiter already had a large party in the party room to take care of. We mentioned to our server that we didn't think it was a good idea for him to take care of the three larger parties at the same time. which it turns out, he could not take care of all of us well. He was just being greedy knowing that with parties of six or more, the 18% gratuity would automatically be added. Greed kills and kills your meal! Anyway, the waiter said our food was ready an then proceeded to serve the 13 men at the next table while our food sat and waited. When he did serve us, he serves my son and hubby then a few minutes later (!!) he serves my mahi-mahi COLD, a minute later my father got his salad, another few minutes (seriously!!) later my mom got hers. My daughter's strip steak never came out. We waited about 7 to 10 minutes and we were all finished with our meal when they brought out her steak and said they would take that off the ticket. Gee, thanks... in the mean time, my mom was so mad ( we had already enlisted the manager and the hostess to clear our tangle of appetizer plates, old drink glasses and refilling drinks.) that she left the restaurant and didn't eat her meal. It was a mess!! As far as the food, the garlic fries were a highlight. My hubby liked the fish & chips, the mahi would have been great had it been hot. Other than that, beer flight wasn't great and the rest was just so-so. Wouldn't go back.

The beer is actually really good, everything else is less than mediocre. Beyond that, it breaks my heart to see so many tourists piled into such an unnew orleans place. I guess it's just a good location. Seriously, the food is not very good and you can definitely spend less money on better food elsewhere at approximately 237 places in New Orleans. A great alternative to this kind of food and experience, minus the sports bar, is Zea.

Food was good, but service was slow and some folks in my group had their orders come out wrong (not matching the menu item)

Ehhhh... We didn't know this before we ate here...but this is your typical brewery chain restaurant. We were disappointed because we wanted some local flavor, and got this dump. The food was pretty bad and "chain" like. Think having a bad mean at Applebees with more salt. Their seafood was sub par and the appetizers were pretty bland. Id never go here again. So not much of a lengthy review needed. Just stay away.

Good Selection of Gordon Biersch, parking maybe a hassle, but the environment is good. There is a patio and an indoor area, good appetizers good.

In NOLA for Mardi Gras and needed a bite to eat before hitting the parades. We were seated quickly, got our food in a reasonable amount of time, had a good waiter, and the food was good (not great, but good). An overall good experience (but not great).

Don't bother coming here. Looks like a good place to eat but food was horrible. Unless this was a place of last resort, I would skip it.

Unimpressive. Has a week night dinner here. Went for the curry shrimp off the specials menu. Got 5 medium shrimp, with a plate of spicy spaghetti, and little else for $16. Shrimp was fine, noodles were hot, with little other taste, and overcooked and runny. Not worth the time among other better options in the city (this one was not my choice).

I ate here once after the Hornets watching crowds had left, so the staff was probably tired at this point and trying to recuperate. However, our group was treated atrociously. After we had waited forever to get a table, the food came out really late, and we were not given any silverware. We waited for a few minutes to see if we could track down our server to get us some silverware, but we were starving. So, a person from our group got up to grab some silverware that was sitting atop a vacant table nearby, only to be snapped at by one of their staff members who notified us that those silverware sets were for people who were coming into the restaurant but hadn't arrived yet! Are you kidding me?! I was so appalled by the rudeness. When I finally tracked down our server, he apologized, but it seemed to get worse. He brought us out plastic forks and knives to eat with. Thus, after we had waited for over an hour to be seated and waited on, we were literally forced to stare at the food on our plates for an additional 15 minutes before we could actually bite into it using plastic silverware. The manager ended up taking 25% off of our bill, which was a good move, but based on the service we received, I didn't think that was enough. Thankfully, the food was pretty good; I really liked the salmon, but it wasn't worth our experience. If I were to go here again, it would be for getting parking validated via a quick couple of drinks.

Better than I thought, and I am not so easy to please. They had a great happy hour from 4 to 630, with discounted drinks and a 4.95 app menu. We stayed for the entree, and I was pleasantly surprised with my steak, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Jimmy liked the fish and chips, but thought there was too much garlic powder on the french fries. Go to their website and get on their email mailing list for special offers and coupons when you dine. They validate parking at Harrahs, so that is a star right there, avoiding the unpleasantness of street or paid parking. A good visit, and I was delightfully pleased!

The gumbo and pulled pork sandwich were both good. The only drawback was that the soup appetizer reached my table after the entrée. Don't know if it was the server or the kitchen who screwed up.

I'll make this simple I like the food and the in-house brewed beer but the service at the bar sucks on the most part. On my first trip which was OK I did have one good bartender and the gorgonzola ribeye. I also had several of the seasonal house brewed beers called Maibock these were excellent. On my second trip because this place is so close to my hotel, I wasn't nearly as satisfied. The bartenders on this day were really snobby, didn't want to be bothered, and seemed to look though everyone. This time I just got an appetizer called The Pacific Rim combo this was mostly good except it was suppose to come with potstickers instead the kitchen substituted there sw egg rolls. I asked the female bartender about the pot stickers and she said she was going to fix it but never did. So not seeing any pot stickers in my future I went ahead and tried the egg rolls, big mistake. These things are horrific. These has a weird tasting filling littered with huge chunks of bone dry chicken not very appetizing. What's really sad is the sw egg rolls at Chili's are ten times better ouch! Maybe I'm being to harsh and might even end up here again out of convenience but this is my story and I'm stickin to it.

My sister recommended GB because I was looking for a venue to have a birthday dinner. A week before my birthday, we decided to go and "test" some items from the menu. She recommended the chili glazed wings and garlics fries and it was great! We also tried the Coconut Shrimp,& Lobster and Crab dip. So the day of my birthday dinner, we arrive and Jamie greets us as we walk into the banquet room. Including myself, it was about 26 guests. Now, my birthday falls on Essence Festival Weekend and New Orleans was still in the midst of SEVERAL out-of-towners, and GB was crowded. As everyone arrived, we all begin to have drinks (Barbados Rum Runner is great). I ordered the New York Shrimp with Tempura Shrimp (&THE WINGS lol)...the steak was one of THE BEST I've had! In the end, I EXTREMELY enjoyed my birthday dinner!!!! The food came out in an appropriate time, considering the number of guests for my party and the fact that there were MANY(majority, if not the entire, restaurant was occupied) guests and Jamie was/is the BEST& those who helped him serve are GRACIOUSLY appreciated! We encountered NOT A SINGLE problem. Everything was done smoothly and if someone didn't want what they ordered(my friend ordered an entree that came with rice, and she didn't like it so she asked for potatoes) Jamie made sure that everything was handled without and sort of confusion or hassle. I can go on and on about the great service that GB offered. I WILL recommend this restaurant to ANYONE that I know, or come into contact with. This is definitely in my top 5 of favorite restaurants! Thanks GB! :)

Their beer is good. Food is usually pretty good too. Yes, it's a chain, and there are SO many other non-chain choices in NOLA, but their location is excellent, and during my trips back home for Mardi Gras, we usually end up here once during the weekend. Unfortunately, every time I've been there I've been disappointed with the service. It's prompt, and they get it right, but I always get an attitude from someone, each time I've been. I know they are super-busy, and it can be a stressful job, but hey, do something else if you can't handle it. My latest experience was Monday night before Mardi Gras day. Our server was rude, and couldn't even be bothered to look us in the eyes while taking our order. (he looked around the room, uninterested while we ordered) Food and drinks were dropped onto the table as he pretty much ran by. (and judging by his size, this kat ain't usually a runner) Considering that he was busy, we continued to be polite, but when I had thanked him for the 4th or 5th time, and was still getting the unfriendly attitude, I gave up. As a final slap in the face, he hurried by and dropped our bill onto the table without a word. He blew his tip for good there. Again, happy with the beer, happy with the food, but the attitude of our server SUCKED. I think I'm done with this place. I'll stick with the local places for good food AND friendly service.

I assume this is for Gordon Biersch Brewery, based on the other two reviews. It's a typical chain restaurant/brewery atmosphere, with lots of TV's by the bar where we ate. The food was good, though we felt our service was a little lacking (though we were a large table of probably 10 or so). I recommend the hummus appetizer as a meal - it was delicious!

The outside in Canal St looks very appealing, sadly the service inside in appaling. We had a party of three. We were placed on a dirty unwiped table, we was then asked to order drinks (which we did as time was not on our side). After our drinks came then then took our drinks away when they cleaned the table (they didn't return them), we finally got new drinks after three requests. The food was very average, the garlic fries were more gralic than fries and the burgers were of poor quality. never go there again!

I like the Marzen beer. I came for a business function so the food was served buffet style. I don't know much on New Orleans food but the jambalaya was pretty good.

I always enjoy a Gordon Biersch beer! Cool waitresses but they freak out and ignore you the more you drink. Apparently they can only put up with a little bit of drunken chatter. Nice and simple atmosphere with the option of patio wining and dining.

Stopped for dinner on a Friday night. We are a party of 6. Service was slow, not very attentive. My daughter had the chicken gumbo, it was good but not exceptional. My lobster/shrimp Mac & cheese was good, very enjoyable. Hubby had garlic fries, said they were good. Loved the mussels infused w/beer (appetizer), very good. Son in law had CBLT, said it was good. All in all, everything was good, nothing spectacular but good food. Would recommend the pasta dishes. And would come back. Did beer sampler - that was fun and good!

I think the salt and pepper has been removed form the kitchen or hidden from the chef. I dont know, but every dish needed seasoning, mine and my wife's. Our waitress was inattentive, sloppy, and just not professional. Oh, and the bathrooms were disgusting too. Not what I was expecting upon arrival.

We had a friend who has a shellfish allergy so we really couldn't eat anywhere else except here. The menu is extensive. We started with free garlic fries. Free because we checked into the restaurant at Yelp. I split the CBLT Sandwich and sweet potato fries. It was filling with the garlic fries. The only negatives: we waited a while for our server to come to our table (which was not clean and had to be wiped down by our hostess) and the dirty table. Our server was fantastic and gave us great recommendations for local places to go to.

Quick and friendly service. The Cajun Fish Tacos and Sirloin Tips were expertly prepared and delicious. We came for my birthday and even though we chose the bar area, it still felt very warm and intimate.

I had the opportunity to eat at Gordon Biersch for first time on 7/17/2015 for my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner. I was eager to try it due to the rave reviews & I am pleased to say that I wasn't disappointed. The event room was set up to seat 26 people with a preselected menu that included: an appetizer, a Caesar salad, three entree selections, & dessert. We had only one server who was attentive and patient with our large party needs & requests. The kitchen was slow with preparing our food to come out simultaneously but we entertained ourselves with toasts & speeches to the bride & groom. The glazed chicken wings & Caesar salad were good. Those who ordered the Alaskan salmon all agreed including myself that is was a bit dry & lacked seasoning, but the kale & quinoa was tasty. However those who ordered the pasta dishes stated that they were delicious (cajun pasta & lobster & shrimp mac n' cheese) & will order it again. For dessert we all had the triple chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream & we all loved it. Thanks Gordon Biersch for making this a memorable event for my brother, new sister-in-law, & family. We had a great time!

Came here for a friend's surprise birthday dinner. The spinach dip was heavy, but good. I had a salad - I can't quite remember which one, although I should, and the hubby had a burger. All I can say is I will NOT be going back. Let's just say the food didn't agree with me about 3 hours after dinner. Definitely more of a tourist trap as opposed to a restaurant for locals.

I got a great salad here, very reasonably priced and a good size. This place is within walking distance of the convention center. The service was solid, despite that the place was packed (we sat at the bar). The Yelp app allows for free garlic fries, always a plus! Looking for pretty fast, easy, good reasonably priced food... check this place out.

Um yeah. I have now eaten here and I can say with full certainty that this place sucks. We ordered the burger medium and naturally it came medium well. This is irritating mainly because I only eat red meat once a week, so this was my one shot and it was terrible. Before the burger, we got the egg roll appetizer. It was okay. I mean, it was as decent as deep fried frozen egg rolls can be. The beer? The beer was a "no" and had ZERO flavor. To refer to this place as a "brewery" is a joke. All of the beer tastes the same and just makes me sad.

Staying at the Hilton we stumbled into this place ..they had a great beer selection and the food was good . I ordered the sliders and some mashed potatoes which by the way tasted amazing .. Our server however was the highlight of our meal her name was Leanne and she was the sweetest most amazing server have ever had the privilege of having .. She made me feel at home and even got us started w some fries since she knew we were hungry .. This place truly hit the jackpot with her she is one of a kind and made us want to come back for more :)

Meh...not so good. We went here a couple days ago for a work luncheon. About 14 of us arrived a little after 12. The place was empty. Our waiter was new and later informed us this was only his third shift. Why they placed a newbie to work a table of 14 alone was beyond us. He made a lot of mistakes and we were the guinea pigs. After waiting awhile for drinks, he finally came out trying to carry 2 trays of drinks. He managed to spill 1 tray of drinks on my coworker. After taking our order, he later came back and said they were out of some of the entrees and appetizers we had ordered. How can you be out of so many things? It took forever to get the appetizers and even longer to get the main course. We didn't understand this as the rest of the restaurant had only about 2-3 tables occupied. I ordered the bourbon salmon. It was terrible. First off, the color of the fish didn't look right and secondly it was majorly dried out. I was looking forward to a nice tender and moist fish and this was not to be found. Some of my coworkers ordered dessert. The waiter took their orders only to return near 10 minutes later and tell them they were out of the creme brulee that at least 3 people had ordered. He said they could order any other dessert they wanted and it would be on the house. I did not get dessert. Those that did said they were not impressed. I doubt if I would come back here. It's not really the type of place I would choose anyway. From looking at what everyone else ordered, the salads and flatbread pizza were the only things that looked alright.

There is a reason why it has three stars on Yelp. Below average food and below average service. Ok, I am being nice, service was terrible. Wow and to think that the waiters work for tips. Word of advise, listen to yelpers; I wish I had. About the food: greasy and frozen. Nasty!!!

Nice restaurant with a good beer selection. We received a free garlic fries for the checking in but the service did take a few minutes. For dinner I had the sirloin tips and they were delicious and one of the best meals I had in NOLA. Good for large groups and they have a nice bar as well. Good Eating & Cheers!

This restaurant was on the way back from my hotel after a volleyball tournament at the convention center. Me and my family walked in at 10:20 PM asking for a seat, but was told that they were closing (they close at 11:00 PM). We had to fight with the hostess to even get a seat. Then once we actually got a seat the service was very very slow even though they were not very busy. It almost seemed like everyone working was too focused on wanting to go home rather than serving their customer. The food it's self was pretty good despite the long wait for everything. I enjoyed my veggie burger with garlic fries. Overall I give this restaurant 2 stars because it's lacking some very vital elements.

Came out of Jazz fest starving. Hosts very friendly but waiters service extremely poor. Had to call waiter from other section for drinks because ours didn't bother to bring menus or even noticed we were sitting. Ordered some appetizers, cheeseburger, 3 lobster and shrimp tacos and the seafood stew. Food took 2hrs to get out!! and was not good at all. The seafood stew is greasy and tastless.

I make it a point to go to Gordon Biersch once wvery time I am in New Orleans amd staying at the Riverside Hilton across the street. The food.....is amazing! From the hot apps to the main course to the house beers, you really can not go wrong. The wait staff are quick, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend this establishment and look forward to my next visit!

Gordon Biersch is a great option when you're in a sea of chain restaurants. They offer a made to order, from scratch kitchen and serve up quite a few tasty dishes. If you've never been you have to get the garlic fries. So. Damn. Good. (and don't even bother trying to recreate this at home, as I have on many occasions...)

Chains start out at 3 stars for me and quickly lose stars for any slip ups. Consequently, because this experience met expectations without widely exceeding them, I will give 3 stars. SETTING: I came here with a group of friends (8 total) for a late Monday lunch a few weeks ago. They werent particularly busy so we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is that of a "family dining" chain: high ceilings, somewhat like a small warehouse, casual, hard floors--not too different from a O'Charley's. SERVICE: Our waiter was fine. He was attentive, had a New Orleans accent, which was a nice touch since we had just gotten off the plane. Gave a few of the friends suggestions when they asked specific questions about the town. FOOD: Their menu is pretty straightforward--flatbreads, burgers, although there was a bit more Cajun flair (I'm not sure if they did this just at the Nola location or all of them). With the check-in we got the garlic fries to start, which were good but greasy--like 3-am-after-the-bar greasy. They also offer their own beers (since this is a brewery) and flights, which I'm surprised we didn't order. For my meal, I ordered two small plates -- single orders of a Lobster & Blue Crab Melt (no bacon) and California Fish Taco. Both were quite small (to be fair, I was warned), it was fine though since I wasn't exceptionally hungry. They were both fine, the Melt was the winner though. Everyone else at the table seemed satisfied with the food as well, no complaints. Final verdict: Despite the two locations in Atlanta, I frankly was unaware this chain existed until now. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but would be open to it if convenient.

We ordered the crab fritters. However, after we ordered we were informed they ran out. Instead, we ordered the chicken fritters. I was bummed because we specifically went there for the crab fritters. I am perplexed how a restaurant would run out of an item. The manager came to the bar for something and walked right past us towards the other end of the bar. Dave called him back to see how we were doing. I believe Dave called him Morgan. The manager stopped at the bar to speak with us. He never introduced himself, instead he quickly asked how we were doing. I responded, "Fine!" He never apologized for the crab fritters or showed that he cared. He quickly walked away. This establishment is in need of new management. On a happier note, Dave was friendly behind the bar and was attentive to our drinks.

First of all, its loud. its loud in the restaurant and its loud in the bar so just be aware. And I was there on a Tuesday in June- not a festival week or a weekend. Service was very slow, friendly but slow. Big gaps between drink refills and food delivery and bill handling. My SNL ordered a spinach goat cheese salad and asked for salmon added on. She got a huge spinach salad w/ no goat cheese w/ salmon and chicken?? just odd service all around. I had the Cajun seafood. It was a huge portion with chicken, shrimp and andouille sausage in a Cajun cream sauce. It was really good. Had a nice heat to it a touch of spice. They had a good beer list; nothing super impressive but you could definitely find 3-4 to try. If you are looking for big portions with good flavor and aren't concerned w/ service; it's a good choice.

Good as expected! Enjoyed my winter bock beer and the server was also sure to tell us about the winter bock tapping party scheduled for tonight. Unfortunately our orders, while tasty, were quite wrong. The hubs ordered a burger and got a chicken sandwich and my coworker ordered a grilled cheese that should have had a guacamole spread - didn't come with the spread. May not have been horrible but it was the one thing he was looking forward to. Upon returning for the party, we ordered birthday shots for me and the server, quite obviously, didn't want to be bothered with making shots. It took us quite some time to get a server to give us the attention we needed. Won't be returning simply due to poor service.....

Went to check out the brews! We very much enjoyed the flights that we had. The Hefeweizen, Gold Export and the Marzen were fantastic! We also had some food. Through Yelp had an offer to try the garlic fries for free and they were awesome. They were not overpowering and were cooked well. I had the grilled cheese with smokehouse bacon. This was a very tasty sandwich. For dessert I had some really good vanilla ice cream and some excellent caramel sauce. Service was fast and the staff was respectable. Overall great experience at Gordon Biersch!

After walking around the New Orleans area, we finally found a place to eat outside with a promising menu. We were seated on the patio right away. The patio was very nice and beautiful. On to the food. I ordered the harvest chicken salad with no bleu cheese( I don't like bleu cheese). I thought the salad was very good. My dad ordered the veggie pizza. I had a slice and thought it was tasty but the crust was a little soggy. My mom had one California Beach Taco and said it was kinda bland. It was suppose to be spicy and she didn't think so. Which is saying something since we are from Iowa. We also had the crust crab risotto fritters. I wasn't a big fan of these since they were very dense and a little spicy. Overall it was a nice lunch.

Very good food and perfect if you eat late! Open til midnight with a full menu available, you won't be disappointed. The ambiance is very modern. From where I say I could see right in the kitchen. I tried not to look bcz I didn't want to see anything that would turn me off. My meal was really good. I had the citrus chicken with asparagus & mashed potatoes. The chicken was well seasoned and moist. The massive pile of garlic mashed potatoes was quite tasty. The asparagus could've used a sprinkling of salt & pepper. I'd eat there again!

Food was okay and the drinks was horrible I had the waiter take my drink back and she brought me something else that was worst then the first drink the steak I had was over cook and the French fries was cold but I must say the salad was good on a scale 1 to 10 I give them a 2

Some thing has gone BAD wrong! Walked right In for our reservation and sat down. Then we waited more than :13 ( yea I timed it, just one of those things I do ) we didn't so much as have waitstaff look at us. No it was not that busy! Don't know what the issue is but hay Manning's is right here and I've already got my beer!

A very unremarkable, bland chain restaurant. They offer free garlic fries as a yelp app check-in special so there you go, GB really did buy my love, if my love is a three star review. The waitress snippily let me know that they only carry "their beers" and not an Abita, so boom, I was roasted there on the spot. Their Marzen is actually not that bad if you have already been drinking earlier in the afternoon/morning. In all seriousness, it is an acceptable chain restaurant if you get tired of local fare. The garlic fries are free so my standards were low - they were good eatin' for drunk food.

I first came to this place on New Years Eve. As soon as I saw Czech Pilsner I knew I wanted to stop in. Unfortunately, because it was stale and warm I went with an IPA and I was good. I went with the Kobe burger and was please. Everything down to the fries were cooked perfectly for me. I would definitely check this place out again. Just keep in mind, service is slow and I found feeling somewhat invisible for a moment. But my inner San Dog came out and I got what I came for. So guess they need a push for better service.

I've been to a few of these places that had just the bar and a limited menu but last night was the first time I went to their full restaurant. I had the lobster and shrimp tacos which were great but one of my companions had the cajun pasta that was a bit over cooked. The calamari appetizer was just a little too greasy but the garlic fries were excellent. Our waiter on the other hand, wasn't so great. I'm assuming he was either new and inexperienced or just sucked at his job. Less than a minute after we sat down and before we even had a chance to look at the menu, he came over and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. Not yet, so we asked for water. When he came back he only brought two glasses (there were three of us) and got the third after we ordered. When he came back with the food he slammed a dish down on the table an inch from my hand and all he said was "ah, the plate's a little hot". It was not and really, he was just carrying too many dishes. He seemed to be doing a lot of aimless wandering because every time I looked up, he was in a different section of the room and didn't appear to be looking for something to do or someone to help. He came by to refill my water only once right before we were done eating and after we gave him our credit card to pay the bill, he went to the next table and took the orders of the people sitting there. I'm not in the restaurant business, but when a customer is paying the bill, that's a pretty obvious indication that they want to leave. Basically this guy was just oblivious to everything.

I understand it was the superbowl and they weren't as prepared as they should have been, but our medium rare burgers were extremely well done and that's not acceptable. Also, they ran out of menus and silverware. really? None of the beers I had were anything special despite the "brewery restaurant" in the name. The garlic fries were eh. Too many amazing food/drink options in New Orleans to go there

The food and beer here was great. The service was also on top of their game. My only complaint would be that the servers sections may have been a little too big. It seemed they were a little overwhelmed at times. The restaurant is huge and very nice, but was never full. A lot of diversity in menu and beer options. Overall a great place to eat and drink.

My friend and I went here for dinner last night. Our food was great and our server was fantastic!! I'll definitely recommend friends and family to eat at the New Orleans Gorden Biersch. Our server Scotty had mixed a few tasty drinks for us and suggested some tasty items off the menu. Scotty, thank you for going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The fried calamari we had were fresh and crunchy, the Baja tacos were extremely tasty, and the Lobster with bacon served over bread was delicious.

Really good beer.... German style backbone and have added IPA and Belgian. Delicious burgers. Great fish tacos. I like hot wings so I would encourage them to have a variety of sauces... my wings were good not outstanding. Great service from Rodney with great outside seating.

While the wait staff was friendly, the service was very slow. The menu is nothing to get very excited about - your average bar & grille type food. My husband ordered a flight of beer, which was very well priced, although for a brewery, their beers are nothing impressive. I tried to order a cocktail, but was told two out of the three options I was considering were unavailable - which, to me, means that whomever is in charge of stocking the bar really dropped the ball. I had the Mediterranean Chicken and my husband had the Märtzen Burger - they were both fine, but nothing to write home about and for two, rather simple meals, it took a long time to get our food. I will say, however, their Garlic Fries are quite tasty. It was convenient and close to our hotel, but I doubt we'll ever go back.

I like this place...I've been at least three times. The first time I went was the best. I had the Mahi Mahi which was one of the best fish dishes I'd ever had. The other two times I went, the Mahi Mahi wasn't on the menu since it's a seasonal fish so I wasn't AS thrilled. Sometimes when you have something that's THAT good you just want it again. Nice ambiance. Somewhat noisy. Great for going with a group and getting one of the quieter rooms that's closed off.

Would get a 5 star rating from me if it weren't for the small portion sizes. The waiter I met last time was really peppy and fun to deal with. The first time we ordered veggie pizza and it was delicious! Last time I ordered baja tacos, a full order Iceberg Lettuce Wedge Salad, and a bread pudding mini dessert taster. I ate the salad and was totes full so I tried to get everything else to go. The bread pudding mini taster can't be ordered to go for whatever reason (wasn't explained why). It was pretty good however it was small like maybe two bites which was true to the name I guess. Later on when I got back to my hotel room I opened up the tacos and there was barely anything in there. I was shocked at the small portion size. I had never seen an appetizer that small before! It tasted good but DANG I was still hungry after eating the whole thing while the salad made me full. All in all if I was in the area and was hungry I probably would come back. I'd just make sure I ask the waiter/waitress how big the portions are.

Beers are really good (if you can get served) and the restaurant is a nice escape on a hot summers day. Sat at the bar and took too long to get served with half empty seats. Bartender clearly didn't give a shit. Ordered the sampler beers and wasn't asked what kind of beers I like, just a predetermined selection poured with little care, splashed out over the bar top. Eventually was able to order the fish and chips that arrived in good time, alas the fries were cold, the fish must have been sticking out of the fryer and a couple were uncooked in the ends. The coleslaw tasted vinegary. I loved he Marzen beer, but would not eat here again.

This is the fourth GB I've eaten at and I hope it isn't a company trend. The location is great, away from the idiot crowds on a peaceful pedestrian only walkway. But in terms of food quality it ranks #4. The beer is as good as any GB and reasonably priced. I had the Woodford Reserve salmon. Portion size was decent, about as big as it should be for a meal - it's not supposed to be a glutinous face stuffing. The brown rice wasn't cooked completely, shame on you GB - who messes up brown rice? The kale and quinoa was cold, but I didn't say anything because it tasted good and maybe it was supposed to be cold. The salmon was just on the edge of being over cooked. Wait staff appeared to be attentive - I was reading a book and so didn't notice which is good, it means they were attentive enough to see that I was engrossed in a good book. I would return if only for the atmosphere.

A group of about 15 of us came here for a co-workers last day before he transferred. GB seems like they're always able to accomodate large lunch groups and the food is consistently good in my book. I had a Hefeweizen and crab dip to start. The Hef was good as usual, and the crab dip was more than adequate. Good amount of crab, lots of dip, and plenty of bread and pita to dip. I had the CBLT - chicken BLT - on sourdough with garlic fries. The chicken was moist and seasoned well, and the sandwich was very good as a whole. I left quite full and quite satisfied.

We came here because we are lazy and we were staying at the hotel right across the block. Also we were hungry. Also we were probably drunk. I was shocked to learn that Gordon Biersch is actually the name of Gordon from Sesame Street. He's the guy who owns and runs this place. I honestly couldn't believe it! I guess things went pretty well for him. That's good to hear. I always like to hear good news about people I knew back when I was young. My friend Jeff had his first hamburger with a fried egg on it. Man. I wish I remember when I had my first one. It's like the first time you have sex without a condom. You just keep asking yourself, "how can I ever go back to the old way?" You can't. You just can't.

Wow! Service was awesome! We even had a trainee and yet he was going above and beyond! We checked in, on yelp, and we received an order of Garlic fries! Very tasty. I ordered the Gorgonzola Ribeye steak! It came with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was cooked perfect, well done, and the garlic mashed potatoes were really good. The green beans were the best I've ever had. Hey had a hint of garlic, salt and the perfect amount of butter. They were really awesome. I am not a green beans kind of person, but I could have eaten just those for dinner. I would consider them on the crispy side versus the soft side. Not too much so, but just right! I highly recommend this place!

Our appetizer came out at the same time as the entree. I wouldn't have minded if the server would have done something to make up for it. Instead, our entrees just sat on the table while we hurried to eat the appetizer. The food was mediocre, kind of like an upgraded Chili's. In my opinion, not worth the money.

The outdoor seating was a nice touch. The food was just ok though...there are so many other great options in New Orleans. It worked for a quick fix. I'll probably go back if I am tight on time and need a healthy dose of garlic fries.

I was starving and was looking for something filling (and, of course, a Bloody Mary as per usual). I used my handy dandy Yelp app, and saw that if we checked in at Gordon Biersh, we were able to enjoy complimentary garlic fries! You had me at garlic, Gordon. We sat out on the patio because the weather was perfect for it. The waitress knew exactly what the check-in offer was (def. thumbs up!) and they were so tasty! I ordered a Bloody Mary (though now I know I should've ordered one of their craft brews), and she asked if I wanted their special Bloody Mary made with a pepper vodka. It was good, but def not special nor spicy so, like I said, stick to the craft brews 'cause that's probably money. I ordered the Goat Cheese Bruschetta AND the Steak Baja Tacos. Probably too much food for just me. Just a heads-up, the bruschetta has honey on it; interesting but not sure if that was the flavor I was going for. The Baja Tacos, though, were awesome! I really enjoyed them, and it was def. enough for one person or two to share since there were 4 tacos. They were just the right amount of spicy and the meat was perfectly cooked! If you're looking to hang out on a nice patio nestled between the CBD and the French Quarter for a later night bite and aren't feeling too picky about a certain type of restaurant, Gordon Biersch has garlic fries and delicious Baja tacos!

I'm the kind of person that licks her plate clean. After a long busy day, I was in the area for a work function and feeling rather hungry. My husband and I decided to dine somewhere close by our hotel given that it was an extremely chilly night. We decided to walk into Gordon Biersch Brewery. The first thing out of our waiters mouth was "before you get too excited about our menu items, let me tell you what we are out of..". The list went on. Of course, three of the items that I would have selected from they were out of. I ended up ordering a boring chicken sandwich. It was your average tasting boring chicken sandwich. Half way through it, I looked at it and got bored of eating it. I literally put the sandwich down and stopped eating. I guess I was full. But again, I am the kind of person that licks her plate clean and this was the first time I have left my food half way. I was disappointed to have wasted a fun meal in New Orleans... but the cold overcame me. On the plus side: The server was nice about the whole thing and the actual restaurant itself was spacious and nice.

Service was great but I wish I could say the same about the food. They have a big menu and the place has that chain feel to it. I wish we went somewhere more authentic for lunch but we were starving and it was across the street from the Hilton where we stayed. The egg roll appetizers were good. My salad was terrible. I ordered the salad with hummus and flat bread and added salmon. The display looked nice but tasted awful. The salmon was dry and very overcooked. I had to put ketchup on the salmon to make it edible. The flatbread tasted slightly stale and the hummus was the thickest hummus I ever had and just bad.

The stand outs for me are the drinks and the appetizers. Every time I have gotten an entree its been ok and nothing memorable. Its location is very convenient and they validate if you park in Harrah's garage which is nice. Their bar area is nice and quite spacious for singles or people traveling in packs. I usually stick to drinks when I am here and find that they are pretty decent. They have an extensive bar menu and the bartenders will happily make you any drink you like. They also have a pretty decent happy hour. I've never gotten the obsession with the garlic fries. I love garlic and I love fries so you would think this would be a no brainer, but the garlic fries are underwhelming. A garlic truffle oil or a garlic aioli would make them more special. The times that I have come here with a big group they were very accommodating and did not have any trouble splitting checks.

Okay so this is not a very New Orleans place due to it being a franchise and what not but the food and beer was really good. I did the sampler and all the beers were very good. The Marzen was my favorite. I had the Chicken Sandwich and the chicken was tender and juicy. We had an order of Garlic fries for the table and everyone loved those as well.

This place will barely do when options are very limited. I stayed at a hotel nearby so my options were just that, limited within walking distance. I got the garlic fries free with $10 purchase courtesy of yelp deal and I purchased the wings. The presentation was ok but I wouldn't come here again. My server was nice, so that helped. I'll just walk further even in 38 degree weather.

Slow service. Smaller portion sizes, but great food. Enjoyed the beer too :) I had the Cajun pasta which was excellent. Not very spicy so you could control the heat. The California flatbread was a nice light meal. Good thing about small portions is that you can enjoy desert. Can't say that I liked the deserts as much as rhe meal though. I did mention that it was slow

IXNAY THE FOIE GRAS: just like Hard Rock, Margaritaville, etc. stick to the basics; NEW CAR SMELL: this is not the place to wallow in authentic creole culture; KOBE Black & Blue cheeseburger, grilled fish tacos; for two: $24 (Coolinary: $20). Every so often, usually late summer, I get NOLA'd out. Maybe it's the unabating heat but during this period of "funk-ennui" I want to cocoon myself away from our charming yet moldy cafés, the dubious tap dancers on Decatur, Uncle Sam on stilts walking his imaginary leashed dog.... and today was such a day. For this reason I decided to try Gordon Biersche and their $20 Coolinary lunch. The structure is exotic for New Orleans: clean, solid and pretty much devoid of personal character. It feels like a men's lounge at a wealthy suburban country club; the kind of place you can see a Chicago family dining Friday night in a John Hughes film. It was just what my overtaxed senses needed. And, after a tasty leisurely lunch, I left recharged; bolstered enough to wade back home through the aromatic puddles of Bourbon Street bar-gravy. COOLINARY STAR: great meal, great price, super discount! (Worst Coolinary: Canal Street Grill; horrible meal, worse deal, Avoid!)

We had to stop at the brewery while in town. We enjoyed the beers, but my allergies were going crazy that day! We asked the waiter, Ronny, if he could bring us some garlic to ease my stuffiness, and he brought a delicious olive oil, parsley and garlic dish with bread. It really worked in clearing my sinuses up! Ronny was super attentive and friendly. It made our stop into Gordon Biersch awesome!

As chains go I usually really like GB but this location leaves much to be desired. Sat at the bar (hoping to get better service) and unfortunately this was not the case - I heard more about the drama of the staff and why can't the computers be updated with what's 86'd from the weekend. Happy that this is not my GB otherwise I might not come back.

Only get 3 stars cause of their handcrafted beers. Their food is sub par. They couldn't prepare a steak correctly to save their life. All four stakes at the table were over cooked from how they were specified. Green beans from a can, and they ran out of the we sides order without notifying us only to bring us something else in it's stead. Over cooked salmon filet and cold mash potatoes...all in all it's like a pricey trip to Applebee's. But the beer was more than a life saver. Great beer!!

We came here during Mardi Gras so they only had a limited menu, but it was still pretty good! The crab and artichoke dpi was the bomb dot com - probably my favorite thing. I got the Kobe burger which was quite good but nothing special. The buns were yummy though. The garlic fries were pretty good but I thought they didn't live up to the hype. I would give this place 3 stars, but the hefeweizen was absolutely delicious!! One of the best American craft hefeweizens I've had.

I chose to take my family here for dinner because they offered a bit more variety than just Cajun food. Upon entering, the restaurant looks nice and the hostess staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing us a table so that I could have an uninterrupted view of the football game on the big screen. Our waitress came to our table and took our drink order...and then came back almost 10 minutes later with our waters that we requested. We placed our order: calamari for our appetizer, mac and cheese for my son, chicken and pear salad for my wife, and the Gorgonzola ribeye for myself (medium rare). Again with a long wait for our appetizer. Our waitress finally returned to our table to ask us if we had ordered an appetizer. Once that confusion was cleared up, we were informed that they had given it to another table and that another was on its way. We clearly requested that our entrees NOT arrive at the same time as the app. Our calamari arrived in an extremely small portion, especially for the price. Not a minute later, our entrees arrived...not at the exact time as the app, but close enough to raise my ire. However, since the app was so small, we told them to go ahead and leave the food. The calamari was bland. I am not positive, but it didn't seem to be fresh, but instead frozen and fried. My son's mac and cheese was what you would get out of a box from the grocery store, but he didn't complain. I just expected something more. My wife was not overly impressed with her salad, as she really wanted something with more sustenance. However, they were not able to take the grilled chicken that they used for the salad and make her some tacos, as opposed to their fish or shrimp tacos. Although it is kept rather dark at the tables, I could tell that my steak had a heavy char on it. I pushed on it to check how it was cooked and I could tell it was overdone. I cut into it and, sure enough, medium well...not the medium rare that I requested. In addition, there was no Gorgonzola in sight on my Gorgonzola ribeye. I set it to the side so that I could send it back. However, by the time the waitress returned, my family had already finished their meals. Again with the slow service. They took it back and returned, very quickly, albeit without Gorgonzola yet again. This time, though, the steak was cooked to the appropriate temperature. I took a bite of the green beans that came as one of the sides and they definitely tasted as if they were from a can. I moved on. The mashed potatoes were extremely bland, so I added salt and pepper...and then more salt (and I NEVER add salt at the table unless absolutely necessary). I took a bite of my steak. Wow. You know that taste of a great steak? Flavorful and juicy, a wonderful meaty texture? Yeah, none of that was there. It was bland as well. Although I did get a great burned flavor from the over-charred exterior. And by great, I mean terrible. They offered a free dessert for us, so we took them up on the bread pudding, one if my personal favorites. It came out as a slice off of a loaf of bread pudding. Maybe that's how it's done in some places, but it definitely wasn't how I am used to it being served. But I was spoiled by my family's bread pudding. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. Service was slow and inattentive. Food was mediocre at best. I realize that it is a chain restaurant and shouldn't be indicative of NOLA food, but I really expected so much more.

If you are a saints fan and in the area, this is a good place to catch the game. Lots of TV's, showing all of the games, not just the Saints. The food is delicious - pricey, but not unexpected... Their brew their own beer on premise and there is a good variety of choices. There is also a nice patio, weather permitting that have 5 or 6 TVs showing the games as well. Service was mediocre, not sure our server likes the Sunday football crowd...

This place was delicious! Spent a good amount of time here cause of the rain. First started at the bar and had the beer sampler, some prosecco, and checked in to get the yelp offer of free garlic fries! The garlic fries are amazing! We moved to a table and ordered: BBQ chicken pizza (no cheese), shrimp scampi pasta, lobster bisque soup and a house salad with bleu cheese. The soup came out cold the first time but they brought out a steamy new cup right away. Everyone enjoyed their food! There was no problem until we received our bill and our waiter did not communicate clearly with the price of drinks! Bad communication but good food! **we came back here again because everyone had enjoyed their food. Got more free fries with the yelp checkin (seriously, so so so good!!) I tried the pulled pork this time and was disappointed! The bun was soaking in sauce so you couldn't even pick the sandwich up! The pulled pork itself was mediocre, I only took a few bites of it with a fork. Took the rest back and never ate it.

Garlic fries are great but service was terrible. Don't try to joke with Ronnie the server he has no sense of humour. Also watch the charges on your credit card bill if you use one, I got my bill in the mail and the restaurant rounded up.

Came here after the Saints/Packers game. One would think that a brewery/sport bar would expect and want the crowd after a game. It was close to our hotel and Harrahs so we thought why not! I wish we would have thought otherwise. Service was slow. Food was cold. It was disappointing bc they had a great menu. At one point, they started telling people they were out of food and closed. It was clear they just wanted to get everyone out so they could close at midnight. Literally turned away over a hundred plus people.

My husband and I came to watch the FSU vs OKST game. Our waitress (Rachel) was awesome, the ambiance was great and the food was very good. Horrible hostess--simple not interested in helping people or being there period! Four stars because of the great food and food service. Also, they give out kids menus with games to keep them occupied but no crayons. The burgers and garlic fries were fabulous and mixed well with the amber draft. Be sure to get your parking validated.

So I understand that this is one of the big dog restaurants that you have to come visit if you're in New Orleans, but the New York strip that I ate here was one of the best I've had in recent memory. It's super hard to find a steak of this quality anywhere where I'm from, so I just really appreciate it. The garlic fries were awesome, and the mashed potatoes were also awesome. I wish I had ordered more so I could have more to talk about. There were a couple of giant TV's, so I was able to watch the football game, too, which is always a plus. Order the New York Strip. Please.

OK for an amplified burger and beer joit. Beer was good. Brewed on the premises. My burger was killer in the fat and taste department. Our service was just excellent. A super friendly cajun boy.

Terrible experience. One dish sent back and I should have sent my burger back. It was like eating a hockey puck. The worst part was the cleanliness of the restaurant. We sat at a table overlooking the kitchen. The counter where the food was being prepared was filthy and a couple of the staff were acting like clowns back there. 4 people at my table and none were happy. The waitress was very nice, that's the only thing positive I can say.

Was visiting from out of town and stopped in here for their happy hour specials. Service was good and the food was great! Took advantage of the Yelp check in and received a complimentary order of garlic fries. I'm not too big on french fries to begin with but these were really good. They have several options to choose from for the happy hour (in the bar area, Monday-Friday from 4-6:30pm). I went with the Baja tacos, calamari and blue crab artichoke dip, all $7 each. And these were full portions, not some rinky dink scaled down "these are on special so you're getting less" apps. Turned out to be way more food than I was capable of consuming, but I am happy to report that the blue crab dip reheated very nicely :)

A sports Gameday favorite to visit with my friends. Great cocktails and their known lagers are not bad. Menu choices are great... And if u just care to snack, the appetizers are great... Especially the wings and Crabcakes... Outdoor dining is a plus during fall and breezy Spring seasons. Love it!

I would give this place no stars!!! They are their own brewery and have an above average beer selection, but service and waitstaff in general were terrible! We went with a group for my husbands birthday, and waited at a wobbly high top table for about 20 minutes until our server came to ask us if we wanted waters. From there on out, everything was disappointing. From the soggy flatbread to the dry bourbon chicken, it was all just mediocre Waffle House quality food ( if not worse). The hospitality was lacking from the nonchalant walking by not asking us if we were ok, to the point where we had to stack the plates ourselves on a neighboring table because the busser kept staring at us. I've never contemplated walking out on a bill until this night. I didn't of course, but for my husband's birthday next year, maybe a reservation at Waffle House will suffice.

Crap food, can't believe it's a la carte and that dang expensive..Fleming's or Ruth Chris is a way better option...Overall just one more bad experience to add to the dozens we had here at Harass New Orleans

The service was so great. We got the blue crab dip and didn't like it. The waitress took it off of our ticket without any questions asked. The garlic fries and garlic mashed potatoes were the best thing we had!

I came here for lunch with my coworker, and I had the grilled chicken sandwich with the garlic fries. The fries were just as I remembered them, but the chicken sandwich was a bit dry and under seasoned. The waiter that we had seemed to be in a hurry to get us out, and did a terrible job. My coworker needed to use the restroom once we were seated, and the server came over 3 times to ask if I was ready to order. I informed him that I was waiting on my coworker who stepped away, but he still did not seem to get it. I have zero patience for stupidity like that.

Me and my family of 10 came to celebrate, we had a 10-15 minute wait then were seated. Very basic menu not a wide variety or anything eye popping or worth drooling over. I asked for 4 different drinks they didn't have any of them at this point I was already irritable from not eating all day. I then ask my server what do you have to drink, he brought me some strawberry lemonade, the good part since I checked in I got free garlic fries but it was covered in so much garlic I didn't even want to eat them. I ordered bourbon grilled chicken and shrimp as my entree it was whatever I ate it in 5 minutes. Definitely not my first choice to eat out of all the authentic spots in New Orleans.

Horrible service and they ran out of Ahi Tuna so 3 of us had to change our orders midway through. Our food took forever; food was mediocre. And then when it came time to split the checks it took them more than 20 min to figure it out and run our cards. Avoid this place and save yourself the time.

Delicious post-marathon dinner! My mom and I got a steak (mine was a bit over cooked but hers was perfect), and my dad got the fish and chips. Fish was delicious! So was the Gorgonzola garlic Saudi for my steak. Garlic Fries seemed a bit overrated...but the dessert (chocolate cake) was delicious!! I will say that the dessert portions were a bit small but very good!

Absolutely horrendous service. Servers staring at the TV. Our party of five waited over 40 minutes for our food, and NOT A SINGLE ORDER was correct. Each was missing something or not cooked the way we asked. Waitress didn't write anything down. She walked away from the table WHILE WE WERE SPEAKING WITH HER because another table called her. Manager came over and acted nice but it was obvious that she didn't want to deal with us. She tried to make the orders right but by that point we didn't want anything. Not even bothering to come back to our table, she instructed the waitress to tell us "you can leave if you want." OH THANKS I DIDN'T THINK I COULD. Worst service I've experienced in my life.

The food was just so so. I had stayed next door at Harrahs for a meeting and actually are here two days in a row. The first night I had Artisan grilled cheese and garlic fries. The bread was dry and it was rather bland. The garlic fries were ok, but hardly had garlic flavor. Tonight I had a cheese burger and garlic mashed potatoes. Both were just ok. Not terrible but not good. Would I eat here again? If there was nothing else, but I wouldn't recommend it. The service was good both days.

Went there for dinner but only stayed for an appetizer. Ordered some beers which were pretty good. Not fanfastic but good. Followed up the beers with an order of the glazed wings. The flavor of the glaze was nice, however, the chicken had very little flavor, if any, and the texture was rubbery. To be honest it tasted like the wing was boiled. The bartender corrected the problem by giving us a round of beers but we did not stay for dinner. Deep frying wings is pretty easy to do so we lost faith in the kitchen.

Awesome place , great food, incredible view, the people are awesome, I need to come back. Must try for any one that has never been here. The hefe, is a must try.... they also validate parking at Harrah which is a plus

During the visit to NOLA we visited Gordon Biersch several times. The outdoor seating and friendly staff made it a go-to place for happy hour! And with the free fries with a Yelp checkin, who can complain?

  • B P.

We were welcomed warmly at the door and met with smiles at every turn (we showed up right at open). The Garlic Cheese Fries live up to the hype... Perfect balance of garlic intensity without being soaked in a sauce. The Cajun Pasta was delicious as well. Not too peppered, but very well seasoned. Chicken was sliced thin and the sausage was properly chopped. Food, environment, and service were all outstanding. We also enjoyed their beer sample - all brewed in house. Excellent beers and one for nearly every taste. Overall great visit. If you're looking for local taste with a bit of "franchise" feel - worth your time.

Horrible management experience. The manager on duty was inept and not hospitable. The serve was great but the kitchen was slow and brought meals behind acceptable times. The manager apologized but didn't comp anything that was way later past others meals. The overall feel was lackluster and they didn't care if we were here or not. We won't be back. Worst Gordon Beirsch experience ever.

Ate here for lunch yesterday. Nothing too exciting. With all the wonderful local cuisine and unique eateries, this spot felt out of place and too clean for New Orleans! Don't get me wrong, I ate healthier here with the seared Ahi salad than I have anywhere else on this trip and I enjoyed it. I just like to eat at unique places when I'm traveling. This restaurant was convenient to the convention center though!

I went here for my first dinner in New Orleand. Upon arrival, the hostess stated that there would be a 30 minute or so wait which lead me to wait at the bar. I had enough time to order and drink one sip of my beer before the hostess texted me to let me know my table was ready! I ordered the seasonal beer, blue crab and artichocke dip as well as the gorgonzola ribeye. It was all pretty delicious! There wasn't much seafood in the dip or my mom's Lobster and Crab mac and cheese which is why I did not rate this higher. I liked this place because I had a few different meal choices. You don't HAVE to eat seafood which was good for me because it is not my personal favorite.

  • Stacey B.

I'd give 4 stars cause the food was consistent. But they don't make the garlic fries "garlicky" enough and that's your signature dish? Steak was cooked well and was tasty.. you want the restroom, go next door to Harrah's, it's MUCH cleaner.

went on a sunday. bleh. it was like I was doing THEM a favor by eating there. had a shrimp po-boy- very average. prices higher than Vegas. football games were so loud I could not have a conversation with gf at table. we were both annoyed at the whole thing. so, if you have no other options, then you know up front. if you have options, skip it.

Today is November 24th, 2014 I brought my to this place to have a good time and the service is poor and the when they took our order the brought it out and I told them before the place the order I want a California Burger with everything but no tomatoes so they bring me a burger with nothing but the tomatoes and I order Garlic Fries and they brought out a salad does that sound like garlic fries but they took it back and it took forever so I just paid for my mom meal

Terrible service. Bad food. Anything is better than what they serve here. I ordered a spinach salad with grilled chicken. What they brought me was lettuce with deep fried chicken strip that were so hard that I couldn't even chew them. After I told the waiter about it, he said he will fix it and he never did until we got tired and left.

The hubby and I had a pretty good dinner... decent service. I always get irritated when I have to use the flashlight on my Iphone in order to be able to see the writing on the menu... I mean really... there is ambience and then there is just not enough lighting!!! I have to wonder why so dim...are they hiding something? That being said, the Proscuitto Gorgonzola Chips that we ordered for an appetizer was very good, a good amount of each ingredient, they did not skimp on the prosciutto or the figs. My seafood Cobb Salad was fresh and had a good amount of crab meat, the shrimp were tiny though so a bit of a disappointment. My husbands burger was prepared the way he ordered it and he was pleased with the quality of the burger, the crispiness of the bacon and the vegetables that he opted for instead of fries were very tasty. Reasonably priced, conveniently located.

Go for the drinks, skip the food. Yelp couldnt even come to my rescue for this place. Besides the majority of mediocre reviews, a couple yelpers mentioned the steak frites. Let me tell you about the steak frites...for $20 you get a plate of unseasoned french fries topped with slices of flank steak topped with a Heinz 57 type sauce. When i say topped, I mean generously swirled all over the plate. I redeemed my yelp check in offer of garlic fries which sound amazing but in actuality is a small bowl of unsalted fries topped with a gob of raw garlic and parsley. The creamy artichoke dip was good and prob stood out since everything else was so bad. They do offer a wide variety of drinks and stay open late with outdoor seating and those would be the only reasons for a return visit from me.

I am a native to New Orleans. My fiancee' and I frequent the place. The fresh Ahi tuna and the blue crab and artichoke dip were excellent. Fish tacos, spot on! Ask for Carl to be your server, he was extremely attentive. I wish every restaurant had a Carl. Customer service at its best!

One of the nice places in NOLA Pros: -Food was pretty decent. I ordered the Goat Cheese and Artichoke flatbread. -Clean bathrooms -Nice waiters/waitresses -The final four women's basketball game was played on the big screen - entertaining Cons: -Pricey $$$ -Food took too long to come out

My boyfriend and I went out for a late dinner after work. I'd been to the restaurant before, as well as another in the chain, and enjoyed the food and drinks as well as the service. This was not the case on this visit. Our waitress, Janis, was rude and not helpful at all. She threw our menus down on the table, took ages to take our order, and didn't even bring us water with our drinks. After dropping off our food she didn't come to check how it was at all - my boyfriend's burger was burnt to a crisp (he asked for well done, not burnt) and lacking the bleu cheese he'd ordered on it. At the end of our visit he hadn't even eaten much. Janis took our plates quickly and said 'you must be full' rather than asking if there was a problem. After dropping off the check, she came back three times in the following two minutes to see if we had it ready. Why couldn't she be so attentive when bringing our food? All in all our experience was horrendous. My veggie burger was delicious but the service was terrible and they messed up a simple bleu cheese burger in two ways. If we ever decide to give this restaurant another try, Janis had better not be there or we will walk out.

Very good for enjoying a beer in a terrace. They brew their own beers which all won medals. Food on the standard American style level, nothing especial. Pizza and my house salad were eatable, but not delicious, I have eaten better ones. Definetly try the beers but don't think the food will be the same quality as their beer.

I would do no stars if that was an option!! I had the worst experience ever!!! I went there during a working vacation. It was our first night in New Orleans. My husband was in town to do the first round of judging for American Idol. I ordered a cheeseburger and about midway through I bit down on something really hard and I felt my tooth ache instantly (back tooth) it broke in half. I spit my food out in my napkin and found a bone that must have been grounded up in the meat. I was instantly not hungry to say the least. You would expect that they would have better quality of meat. I told the waiter then he had the manager come over to see what broke my tooth. He apologized and said that they would take care of the cost to repair the tooth. He gave me his business card and then told ask us what dessert we would like for free. The meal was free but they have not returned any of my calls regarding helping me with any cost to repair my tooth. I have made several calls to the restaurant and to the corporate office and nobody has bothered to call me back. So I either absorb the cost of a tooth replacement cause too much broke off to save or get a Attorney involved. So save yourself some grief and choose a different place to eat.

Two words: raw chicken. I hate to do it because I really like this place and it is convenient to get in and out of, food and service is always really good, but I can't let this one slide. Please, please school the cooks on how to pan fry chicken. It's not that hard. Management was awesome about comping our drinks and the waitress was the sweetest thing, but it still doesn't make up for the fact that they served raw chicken.

Came in for lunch during Mardi Gras. The service from our waiter was not the greatest, but it got better from there. The crispy artichokes were tasty, as were the garlic fried. Good, strong flavor. The beers were decent. They were out of fish and chips and the head chef came out to let us know. He offered to comp us anything other entree for free. I got the ribeye steak which was very good.

I went with 3 other people. Two of them had been there the day before and said their bar food and beer was delicious. I'm only commenting on our lunch which was NOT that great. The waitress was a little curt. It was around lunch time so it was busy but she acted as if our mere presence was annoying her. Oh well. As a vegan, I was happy to see vegetarian tacos on the menu. I ordered those and asked for no butter, sour cream, cheese, etc. The tacos were fine, pretty boring - so I asked for sriracha. The rice and beans are made with pork so she was supposed to bring out fries instead, that didn't happen. I said to just forget about it. Everyone liked the appetizers: wings and garlic fries but then when the food came they weren't as pleased. Two people ordered the seafood salad and said it was bland. The other woman had the mediterranean chicken and said it was so bland and hard she couldn't cut through it. She even asked for a steak knife at one point and then just sent it back. The manager came out an offered us free dessert of the bread pudding which they all said was amazing. Myself and a coworker checked in via Yelp so there was a deal for free garlic fries. I explained to the waitress what Yelp is and the purpose. Once I told her I'd be reviewing them, she was suddenly friendlier. In sum: get beer, bar food and bread pudding. Don't sit at a table or order real food :D

I came here hungry and had whiskey before eating, so keep that in mind....wings were sweet, spicy, and excellent. Lobster and crab cakes were divine, well seasoned. Chicken and mushrooms were creamy, moist, and excellent. Bourbon salmon was perfectly cooked with the perfect hint of bourbon. Great great banquet food for 450 people

I knew this was a train wreck the minute we walked in. The hostess refused to even acknowledge us. When I asked for a table, she proceeded to tell me that it would be 25 minute wait. That would be acceptable had the restaurant been actually full - but it was not. We waited 5 minutes and were taken to our table. We opted for a few appetizers but none of them were worth eating. The crab artichoke dip came with bread that was too salty and burnt. Throw in apathetic wait staff to the mix and you get the opposite of "southern hospitality".

Wonderful place to have lunch or dinner while watching a sporting event. The food and service is excellent with a great selection of in-house draft beer. You must order the famous garlic fries, they are the signature dish. Check in with Yelp and you get a free order.

Really liked this place. We were there for drinks on a Friday night and the atmosphere was fun and a bit loud. It didn't feel touristy. We sat at the bar and the service was friendly and fast. They make their own beers so I tried - and liked - a couple varieties. Looked at the menu and the offerings and prices were appealing. Have to eat there next time.

For good all-around food, come here. I came here for my 21st birthday a couple of years ago, and it was delicious. Plus, the staff is friendly! Recently, we came here for drinks on my friends birthday, and when we asked for the check, the waiter said the drinks were on him. Super nice! Oh and they validate parking!!! Great news considering the location where parking is scarce.

Probably my least favorite spot in New Orleans. Really generic and bland on all counts. This is a typical chain brewpub. Imagine an Applebees that makes beer. Connected to the Harrah's hotel and the casino. Pretty much what you would expect for such a place, and sterile overall. A big area in front for dinners. The bar is towards the back, and a large patio outside. Brewing equipment can be seen to the left of the bar. Just a cookie cutter brewpub. The service was decent. The bartender was fast and friendly, though did not seem to know a lot about the beer. I had some appitizers, fried calamari. They were tough as rubber, and had no flavor. Lots of other stuff on the menu. Steaks, seefood, burgers, and they are all bland and flavorless. Just like Applebees, a little of everything but the masters of nothing. On to the beer. There are a handful of German beers. Most everything is watery and bland. Nothing bad, just by the numbers. The best was the Schwarzbier. Everything else tasted almost the same. Overall, this place does not have much character. I am not really a fan. Go to Crescent instead.

Great and friendly service. ... Very good food and the beer was amazing. ... Had the "pairing special"which consisted of an order of small coconut shrimp and the summer light beer along with a goat cheese artichoke flat bread. .. Can't go wrong with that!

4 stars due to the fact they offer 2.50 craft beers on Tuesday. The food is generic pretty much a glorified chilis but for the area and the prices you cannot complain. If you're staying at the hilton it's pretty convenient

  • Tiff C.

Not a standout on our list of places we ate at, but not horrible. We only went here because its right across the street from Harrahs Casino and we didn't want to pay $33 freaking dollars for their sub-par buffet. We had fish tacos for the app and the tortilla it came out out was so tough, I thought I was going to break my veneers. The Cajun Shrimp Pasta, wasn't Cajun(not spicy needed more flavor), and my friends thought their sandwiches were so-so. Service was nice but when you eat at a mediocre restaurant in one of the greatest food cities, it's a total let down. Maybe if it were in Lincoln Nebraska it would've gotten 4 stars, not the case here in NOLA.

We stopped here for some beers and it was fine. The atmosphere is like a sports bar, which is fine. Service was competent. In looking at the menu and the food around us, my impression was that the food is overpriced and it did not look very good, at least the burgers and pizza and the usual stuff people get at a bar. The wife and I agreed we would not want to eat here. That said, the beer list is not extensive but interesting and I had a good czech pilsner.

Here for Amerivespa. Got back to room late and was looking for a place to eat around 10pm. Found out they were open until midnight and according to yelp reviews worth looking at. This place is right next to the Hilton which was a big plus. Prices were decent compare to other places we've been to do far. Had southwestern egg rolls. Yum. Husband has gruyere grill cheese with house made chips. He enjoyed his meal too. We would return to try other items on the menu.

Ate here a few years back and LOVED this place. Raved about it to all our friends. Had some of the best gumbo too! Returned on our last trip to NOLA and we were extremely disappointed in the food and the service. Will not be back again.

Gordon Biersch is decent place to grab a beer if you're in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip there or anything. The food can be pretty hit or miss. They used to have some good pizzas on the menu but they're not on there anymore. I always sit at the bar because table service can be a joke. The prices are pretty much what one would expect considering they are part of the Harrah's empire. They do validate parking, which is always a plus in my book.

Meh. Ate here with a group of 20. They seated us right away on a Tuesday evening so they get points for seating us rapidly being such a big group. One waiter for the whole table (poor guy). He took our app and drink order right away and was back quickly to take the food order. However, the drinks took FOREVER to come out. I mean FOREVER. One of our guys got up and went to the bar to buy a beer himself because it was taking so long. One VERY impressive factor was that all of our food came out at the same time. ALL of it, for all 20 of us. Food was average. Not great but not awful. Just average.

Was on vaca in NOLA and walked into this place for lunch. Coming from MA and a man that loves I was disappointed after 3 nights 4 days not eating something I really enjoyed. When I came to GB and got their fish tacos and garlic fries I was so pleased and relieved I could go home knowing I ain't something that I really enjoyed. The prices are very affordable and the service was excellent. Will come back again.

I went back to Gordon Biersch for a pre-birthday dinner since I enjoyed myself the previous time. Well apparently I picked the wrong time to visit. It was a long wait, longer than I ever waited for a restaurant. I refused to leave because I parked in Harrahs and didn't want to pay. The wait was crazy and on a empty stomach almost impossible. Once we were called, service was pretty good. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and even gave me free birthday cake! The only problem was soon as our appetizer came out, our entrees came out! So it was definitely tough to properly enjoy our appetizers. I do love their crab and artichoke dip. It's always yummy so that alone is always great to me. I'm addicted to their Marzen Barbecue Sauce, so I had to get the Marzen Barbecue burger and Marzen sauce on the side, because I'm just that hardcore about it; you need to try it. I got the plain fries this visit, because the garlic fries is a little bit toooo much and made me feel sick. Overall food was great, but service and timing was off this visit. Good Thing: Eat here, free parking in Harrah's, which is always important to me.

So far this has got to be one of my favsies!!! Everything I try is good here. The southwest egg rolls, fish and chips, Kobe burger, soups, and of course my all time favorite has to be the crab and artichoke dip. It comes with little French bread slices and it is always good!!! The sangria is one of the strongest I've had. And their on site brewed beers are good also.

I had high expectations walking into this restaurant. From the classy décor, upbeat music and incredibly friendly and welcoming staff I was ready to be impressed. I ordered an in-house brewed root beer (middle of a work day though an alcoholic beverage was tempting). It wasn't bad but not the best I've ever had. Next was a standard house salad. By far my biggest disappointment. The lettuce was obviously from a bag and most of the leaves were browning around the edges. I ordered it with a bland blue cheese dressing. For my entree I was looking forward to a delicious sounding lobster and shrimp mac and cheese. I asked the server if it was good he said yes but very rich. I ordered it fully expecting a creamy and rich cheese on it. It was mediocre. I expect more flavor from New Orleans cuisine and this place didn't deliver. The only redeeming quality was the shrimp. Cooked perfectly!!! If you need somewhere to eat a quick lunch or dinner and fund this place convenient I would try it... Otherwise I would recommend going to a different restaurant for more flavorful food. I feel for the quality of this food I was grossly overcharged. The service was awesome though.

The concept is the same regardless of location: You want some bland, fried, over-priced food while drinking semi-decent beer and yell at your companions to be heard over the din of sports programs blaring on HDTV.

A group of 4 of us went here on Sunday to find a place to watch a football game. In terms of tvs and stuff it was great - and maybe for just drinks and a game it would be good - but I did not enjoy my dinner here. Also, one of the people in our group ordered a ginger ale, and then was told there were no refills for that particular soda, which just seemed a little odd. Meh.

  • Tam L.

Their fish tacos are consistently some of the best and the sangria makes me happy. (Pass on the Kobe sliders; dissappointing if you're sober. They tasted like defrosted patties and served naked on basic rolls. Dry and bland.) Nice outdoor seating, okay service. Good spot for people watching and hanging out before Saints games. Fulton Square is a booming little area and this is always a favorite starting or ending point. Bonus: they validate Harrahs parking garage

I don't typically eat at chain restaurants when I'm out of town but was in a hurry. Our server, Melodie, was great and very professional. The food was fantastic and the actual restaurant was very clean (sometimes hard to find in New Orleans during Mardi Gras).

WARNING: THIS REVIEW CONTAINS GRAPHIC DETAILS THAT ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN OR ADULTS WITH WEAK STOMACHS. I wanted to like this place, but they took WAAAAYYYYYYY too long. I will give them 5 stars on one thing though (before I slam them for the rest of my review) the GARLIC FRIES. They were delish. Thanks to the Yelp check-in offer, we got them for free! Anyways, I ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese. TERRIBLE. I regretted ordering it the second I took a bite. It was way too creamy and it totally did not settle well in my stomach. We sat down around 6PM to eat, we didn't get out of there until 9:30-10. I went to bed around 12. Around 1 AM my stomach was turning and making all sorts of terrible sounds. Next thing I know, I feel the lobster climbing up my throat. I barely had enough time to run to the bathroom. I was over the toilet for about an hour trying to throw up as much as possible to make myself feel better and clear it out of my system. I had work the next day and rest was very important to me. I drank water and did all I could to make things better. Needless to say, it was a loooooonnngggg night. I ended up falling asleep curled up next to the toiled with towels and blankets. So lesson learned: DO NOT MIX DAIRY AND SEAFOOD IN ONE SITTING. Same shit happened to me a few months earlier when I went to a crawfish boil and had ice cream for dessert later that evening. Despite my bad experience, I'd probably go back to try something else that does not combine dairy and seafood. But make sure not to go on a relatively busy night, or when you're hungry, or if you don't want to stay for more than one hour. I'll try to steer clear of this place when necessary but I don't want to blame my horrible experience ENTIRELY on them. Maybe I just have a sensitive stomach?

Not fair to give it 4 stars since I didn't try their food and only had drinks. Firstly, the Pomegranate Peach drink - sooo good! Girly, frilly, fruity and it contains antioxidant. Awesome! Next, beer flight - I like beer flight since I'm so indecisive when it comes to drinks. :) Thirdly, food smelled amazing compared to Drago's...will definitely stop by again. Lastly, waitresses were pretty cool. :)

Went on a Thursday night, no overly packed. Still waited for 30 minutes due to a very confused hostess desk, the hostess was studying for a test and had her work sitting on the stand. Then we sat there 6 of us waiting as we seen table after table leave. Then noticed the other waitress saying what are these people waiting for, all looked at each other and didn't know. Food was average, 2 dishes were sent back for being ice cold. This is basically a Friday's or Apple Beas.

Your standard chain GB. Service is slightly below par. Mainly because the waiter seemed annoyed that I asked to sample a few of the beers before buying one. Other than that we shared the appetizer combo which was decent but it was your standardize food served everywhere. The heffe beer and someone expedient service was the saving grace. Other staff seemed in attentive when we walked in the door waiting to be seated.

I've got this place figured out. Seriously. If you like steak and you like beer, just follow my advice and you will dig it. Step 0) Don't go here if you're a tourist who wants to eat good New Orleans food. This is a chain, not a foodie destination. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Step 1) Don't order anything except the steak frites, medium rare with au jus over garlic fries. For some reason they can nail this every time and it is good. The steak comes out cool in the center, the fries are covered in meat grease and garlicy and the steak sauce gives the whole thing a nice little tanginess. Don't order any other food. If you want an appetizer then split a steak frites. If you want a salad then get the steak frites. If you want dessert get the steak frites. I'm serious. I've had almost everything that this place has to offer and all of it sucks, except the steak frites. Get the steak frites. Get the steak frites. Get the steak frites. Step 2) Enjoy a beer or eight. I know the brew master here and he's a very good brewer. He really appreciates the German styles that he brews, even though they're mandated by corporate. I think he nails the quintessential wheat beer and his Schwarzbier is one of my absolute favorites. The Golden Export is bullshit and tastes like fizzy water. The Marzen is very drinkable. The Czech Pilsner is kind of boring. The Oktoberfest (the seasonal as I write this) is decent. And that's all there is to it. Eat the steak frites and drink beer. Enjoy.

Went here for lunch, it's a beautiful restaurant and the service was great. I had the lobster/shrimp Mac and cheese which was excellent with lots of big pieces of lobster & shrimp. Kevin had the Farmhouse Burger which was pretty good, but the burger was slightly dry and seemed to be a frozen patty, not fresh. The garlic fries were great. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was very good, but not quite in our top 10 for bread puddings. All in all a good meal and we may return.

Not a fan of this place. Service wasn't great and the food was not good at all. Only perk is they have a nice selection of beers and I heard is a fun place to watch a game.

Service was good...pricy for what it was but food pretty good. I have been here several times as I stay at the hilton for work and always got good service. Burger was good, best thing I have had here was the shrimp and lobster mac and cheese...I liked that a lot. I would come here again for decent food close to the hotel. Not the best in NO by far but good solid food and drinks and good service in my experience.

We used a Groupon tonight and it was good. But I really think it greatly matters what you order. The Steak Frites (rare) over garlic fries was great. The shrimp & chicken potstickers were very good. But we were given conflicting info about the lobster mac and cheese so I didn't risk it.

The food was bad but luckily the service was terrible. :( We had fish tacos, cajun pasta, jambalaya and a cheese burger. Every single item was over-cooked. The rice that came w/ the tacos was over cooked! Save the tourist prices and go somewhere else. By the way, the chief was walking around the kitchen and this was what we got. Imagine if he weren't there. Yikes.

Ate at Gordon Biersch near the Hilton first night in town. The fish & chips I had were made with real cod and were very good. But If you are looking for authentic New Orleans this not it. But that being said, the food and service were very good.

Food here is excellent as is the in house brewed beer. The seared Ahi tuna is amazing. It comes with their new Quinoa Kale salad as a side dish which is amazing. The hostesses could be a bit more friendly, but the service from the wait staff made up for their rudeness.

I have food allergies and the waiter didn't seem to care. He didn't write my allergies down (which all places do when I state my allergies) and didn't even tell the chefs since I am sitting right next to the kitchen and could see no communication whatsoever. My dish even came out with a side I am allergic too. I had to send it back and explain again it needs to be cooked separate from other food and all over again. And plus the food was just okay. One waiter did come over to make sure I was okay, and I appreciated that. However, I would not come back.

  • Roger N.

Chain style food. Friendly but rather slow service. Requested substitutions on sides were not made and one side dish was forgotten. Just not a lot of flavor in any appetizer or main course. I couldn't even get a burger since medium is the rarest possible. Good beer might be the only reason to return.

If you've ever been to BJ's Brewhouse or any other chain microbrew restaurant, you know exactly what you're getting into here. The beer was tasty (I had two Celebration Bocks and would suggest them to anyone) and the food was completely serviceable. I was going to describe it as a half-step above Applebee's and Chili's until I remembered that my tacos came with a slice of pepperjack on them, so there's that. The big pro: on a Saturday night at 8 they could seat a party of 8 in less than 10 minutes. If you walk to Drago's without a reservation on a weekend and just want to fill up before a night in the French Quarter, this'll get the job done.

A great place for convention groups to head, a fun way to check out the local twists on a well-known chain. We didn't bother with food, but had a brew each instead. Good solid brew, it's fun to try it from location to location. Ask if you can meet the brewer :) Your "home" gordon biersch is in Columbus, Ohio. your stein club and points cards are valid everywhere you go. Remember to have your membership number at least programmed into your phone.

Came here on a football Sunday- good atmosphere for saints football. Ordered the tapas appetizer- definitely not enough bread for the toppings and it was just ok. The beer isn't bad, but nothing to write home about. Overall, we had an ok time.

We had some good beer here, but the food left a bit to be desired. I got the calamari appetizer and it was completely bland. No seasoning and didn't come with the advertised aeoli. I dumped some salt and pepper on it and muddled through but wouldn't order it again. The Czech pilsner and the swartzbier were great and my brother liked the gold export.

Based on previous reviews we were hesitant, but decided to hive it a try. We had the crab and artichoke dip-it was awesome. We also had the Cajun fish tacos and the lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese. The shrimp was phenomenal. Everything was good. Service was ok.

Great service but the main courses were Ok at best. We started with a free appetizer courtesy of Yelp, check-in offer. We had Garlic Fries. Those were good and a twist on just fries. They prepare these with garlic and taste good. It's not a big plate and at a regular price of $6.95 , I would not have paid for them. I ate their Mango salsa Jerk chicken taco, served with black beans and white rice. I thought great sweat mango salsa will be a great balance to the spicey flavor that I love in good jerk. Instead what I got was all sweat. The "jerk" chicken tasted bland and not warm. Plus the taco shell had that not so crisp taste. My son ordered the pizza from the adult menu, I thought , well worst case I can help hm finish or take part with me. Small portion for $12. Ok taste, nothing to go nuts about. My wife and daughter split a cheese burger that they ate, but said tasted ok. Overall, I was disappointed a bit with this place. I have eaten at the GB in Washington DC and we loved that place nd had expected similar here. I was let down, I'll give them maybe another try, but with so many options in NOLA, it maybe a while.

I like coming here to get my parking validated. Lot's of beer on tap and the wait staff is very knowledgable about them. Grab a quick bite and they'll validate your parking in the Harrah's parking garage. Definitely worth it.

I came here on a business trip and had a decent experience. I checked in with yelp and got free garlic fries which was a nice bonus! I also tried one of their craft brews which was quite good. The chips were good but got soggy in the blue cheese sauce. I also tried the crab & artichoke dip, it was a little bland and the bread rounds could have been toasted more. The bread to dip ratio was also severly off.

Wow im surprised about all the negative reviews. Me and my wife have been here twice and both times were outstanding. We've eaten at quite a few places in new orleans and this place is excellent. Anyone who complains about the beer here is clueless, probably light beer drinkers not used to flavor in beer. I like all kinds of beer (except American IPAs) and all of Gordon Bierchs' beers are top notch. Almost as good as the real German brands. The service was great and the prices werre reasonable. The food was awesome! Hard to get bad food in Nawlins and this place is no exception. Whats not to like about this place?

  • Tamara F.

I have gone to this place no less than 5 times, and I keep hoping for something better to happen each time. The service might be the slowest that I have had anywhere in the city and surrounding areas. When you enter from Fulton St., you have to walk past at least 5 people to the Poydras St. entrance so they can walk you all the way back, past all the people you saw first, to seat you, Dumb???? Then, you sit and you sit and you sit and finally, when you are about to leave, some waiter or waitress comes over. The food is all generic, like sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, salads, etc. I have tried all of it and it's all pretty damn bland. I guess I am used to this city of fine food and this place just doesn't add up. The beer selection is good and that is its redeeming factor. Other than that, it is just so disappointing because Fulton Street is so fun and you think it's going to be good, then it's a let down. On top of that, the price is outrageous. I guess being in that location is expenisve, but the food doesn't live up to its price.

The Garlic Fries are awesome. The chicken gumbo is pretty good. The Burgers and Pizza are decent. The drinks are average... Had to send back a few drinks because of dirty glasses, nothing major. Decent place to watch a sporting event with LCD screens all over. Roomy, good for groups. MARLIN IS THE BEST WAITER.....ASK FOR HIM.

Out of Ahi and Kobe. Slow service. Gumbo: meh. Fish and Chips sucked. I kind of knew they would.(What's with the garlic and parsley on the chips? Get the fuck out of here! At least make it an option. Next time, yes, there will be a next time, I don't want a garlic and parsley bath for the chips.) The wife loved the Veggie Burger. Go figure. Gotta love the big beers and patio dining.

I was really was taken back by how good the food was here. I was really expecting something average - you know the typical bar food, but everything that was got was excellent. We started off with the crab dip - not overly fishy but overly cheesy :-) We then moved to the kicked up grilled cheese - three kinds of cheese, bacon, and tomato with a pesto-mayo sauce - yum. Great place to grab a quick bite, especially when its late and the only other places that are open are pizza places.

Thanks to the manager, this rating went from two stars, to four! I'm not much of a chain guy, so went only to redeem a gift card my mom sent for Christmas. We found a great little table on the patio, overlooking beautiful Fulton Street, on a perfect Friday evening. The place was quite busy, so I was prepared for slow service, but we were actually greeted quickly, and my craft beer & my wife's glass of wine arrived in a timely manner. The food took longer than expected, and when it arrived, my fish tacos were great (but, at 1,210 calories, what's not?), however my wife's flatiron teriyaki steak dinner was cold... steak, potatoes, and all. The server was quick to offer a replacement and checked back in several times, while we waited, and waited, and...well, you get the picture. I completed my dinner, as it was quickly getting cold,, and we enjoyed a complimentary round of drinks while we waited. When the new steak dinner finally arrived, it was hot & looked great, however way too rare for my wife's liking, so she just ate the sides & a little steak around the edges. This is where the manager stepped in and not only apologized, but generously comp'ed our entire meal ($75 range)! He told me to save our gift card and come back another time, so we'll give them another try. I doubt GB will ever make my list of favorite NOLA restaurants, but I'd recommend it for a great beer and above average sports-bar food in an awesome setting, with a manager who cares!

Not bad for a chain. After waiting entirely too long to get our drink/food orders in, we were happy that the food was worth waiting for. We all got one of their many burgers, I chose the farmhouse burger, which has a fried egg on it and was cooked exactly as I asked them to (although they won't let you order a burger med rare- preposterous!) and everything my grumbly tummy needed! The drinks were fun, too, and delicious. Great place for large groups, as long as you're not starving! Special Note: I got a free order of garlic fries when I checked in on Yelp! They were just okay...although we ate all of them!! The sweet potato fries I tried weren't great either.

I ended up here after the Krewe of Halloween because my niece and her friends wanted to catch the World Series game. I was not too impressed. I would blame any service bobbles (1 plate out of 6 came 20 minutes late) on the crowds, but then the waiter charged one of the nieces' friends for the entire meal on her card after also receiving cash. Sketchy. He did apologize when called out. I thought the garlic fries were bitter. And the crabmeat on my seafood cobb salad did not taste fresh. I guess I should mention that I ate in the bar so maybe that makes a difference.

I dined here quite a few times the last time I was in New Orleans (either 2009 or 2010, don't remember...). The biggest 'stand-out' item for me: the garlic fries! I loved them! If you go to this restaurant, you should definitely try them. I'm not sure exactly what i ate entrée-wise, but I'm pretty sure I repetitively ordered the same burger each time. It was good, from what I can remember. Overall, 4 stars because their food is great but nothing I would go crazy over. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in New Orleans.

Gordon Biersch is exactly what it looks like: a chain restaurant attached to a casino. It knows its place and doesn't try to be something it's not. Keep in mind, however, that GB is definitely on the high end of the chain restaurant spectrum. This unapologetic approach is what puts GB higher on my list than a Benigan's or Applebee's. Check it out during a Saints or Hornets game. The bar will be bumpin. It's not the best food you'll ever have, but you'll probably have a lot of fun eating it.

I ate at the bar. The bartender recommended the fish tacos. Which were a really good choice. Top it off with a Czech Pilsner or 2, or 3, and you'll have a very good night.

Great atmosphere, great German beer selection, and amazing crab artichoke dip. :) We came to watch a game so we sat on the bar side (after stalking tables) and had a good time. It took us quite some time to get a server or drinks, but we didn't mind since we were planning on staying a whole football game. I can see this being frustrating if you're on a time crunch, however. The food was good, nothing spectacular. The garlic fries I read about we're also pretty good, but not amazing. Just simply fries with little chunks of garlic plopped on top. Overall, seems a bit overpriced but it was a great place to watch a game with lots of drinks to choose from.

Good stuff. We went for lunch because it is near my sister's office and offers outdoor seating, and we wanted to enjoy a cold beer and the nice weather with her only having a short amount of time to join us. The server was great, the beer was great, the food was very good, and the price was fine. My lobster and shrimp tacos were terrific, and the girls had burgers that looked fantastic. Didnt get to have apps or dessert, but I will next time we are in town. I am actually looking forward to telling my sis to meet me after work and holding up the bar, drinking good beer and hanging out until she can get there. Good solid spot. I am a fan.

They had a check-in offer here for free Garlic Fries so it drew us in. The fries are amazing but to me they are not $6 amazing. I would never pay for them especially for the size of the order that we get at that price. Pasta Jambalaya loved it. NY Strip Steak ordered medium rare came out rare sent it back and they fixed it. The steak was nicely seasoned and in general pretty good.

Food was above average overall. Service was poor and the kitchen seemed confused. The server had ZERO knowledge of wheat allergy. (didn't know that batter had wheat flour in it, didn' t know flour tortilla vs corn tortilla, etc.) We went to this restaurant after a full day out walking in the NOLA heat at the zoo. It was across the street from our hotel and had OK reviews. We freshened up at the hotel and walked over. Pros: The garlic fries were crispy, garlicky and delicious. The lobster and shrimp tacos were good. My wife's entree (salmon) was delivered on time and was good. My wife liked the beer. Cons: My son's tacos were delivered a full 20 min after the first plate arrived. My steak was delivered 10 min after the first plate but it was well done, not "medium rare" like I ordered. I explained to the server that it was not medium rare and she said "It should be, are you sure?" I showed her my black and gray steak and she immediately sent it back to the kitchen. After 5-10 more minutes she came back and asked "You said 'medium well', right?" I explained that no, both times I'd requested medium rare. I didn't get my medium rare steak until 30 min after our first entree arrived and everyone else was finished. The management handled it as well as could be expected. My son's tacos were comp'd, my steak/shrimp was comp'd, and I received a complementary bowl of red beans and rice while my THIRD steak was being prepared. Overall it was a very poor experience. The kitchen and service were a mess. However the food, when it arrived and was made to order, was good.

Went last night for dinner, service was great (we were a group of 9) and our waiter got everyone's order right and everything came out at the same time. We ordered the artichoke heart appetizer which was totally yummy and I could delude myself into thinking it was healthy (even though it was fried) because it was artichoke hearts, lol. We also ordered the tomato basil mozzarella pizza which was totally delicious. Prices were decent for the area (Fulton St) and the beer was tasty. Tried some of our friends garlic fries which were also tasty. It was a little loud, but I guess you can't really avoid that in a place like this. There are some better places in the area, but if you can't get seating (this area gets busy fast) then check this place out, it's definitely not a bad choice.

As other reviews have stated, this is a chain restaurant and it certainly feels like one (think Chili's). I've had the Tapas appetizer, which is vegan-friendly, but nothing worth writing home about. The array of roasted garlic, bruschetta, olive tapenade and hummus with herb flatbread were certainly edible and okay, but no party in my mouth. Just saying! I've had the Garlic Fries - pretty delicious, but not delicious enough that I would be motivated to come back here strictly for them. The beers brewed on site are surely delicious, but yanno, your typical beers! The first time I dined here, I ate at the bar, so the service was prompt. The last time I was here, wow, way to be ignored! I am assuming the waiter was possibly displeased we were only ordering fries, a side of some kind of veggies, and beer so he abandoned us for what seemed like 20 minutes. It doesn't take that long to steam some veggies! So that was irksome and I am surely never coming back here. It is more of a meat paradise kind of place, so I should've known better!

I stopped in to watch a Sunday night Saints game and try some of their beer. This place was rockin', but I was able to find a seat at the bar. I wasn't familiar enough with Gordon Biersch at the time to know that they offer mostly German style beer. I was wondering why I was offered a pilsner when I asked for an IPA...no porter and no stout either. The pilsner was fine for a pilsner and the winter bock was pretty good. Fun atmosphere with large windows behind the bar overlooking the courtyard.

Even though this place is a chain, and I'm soooo against chains, I have to say it was very very good when we went. I met my cousin there for dinner when we were both in NOLA for a convention and wanted a quick bite one night. There were four of us at dinner and I have to say the food was excellent. We all pretty much cleaned our plates. I had something off of the 500 calorie or less menu, which I didn't even really do on purpose it just looked yummy. It was a shrimp stir fry. I noticed a lot of their food had an asian flare to it and the stir fry was quite delicious. Two other people I was with both got fish tacos and both had empty plates at the end of the night. I also got a a mojito which was incredibly delicious. They have a very extensive collection of beers which isn't my thing so I love when a restaurant has a good cocktail list. They have tons of mojitos, martinis, and margaritas to choose from. Also, we had good service, nothing outstanding or mentionable, but I did forget my credit card there and called a few minutes later and they had it locked in the managers office and got it right out when I got back. I was very grateful to be back. I think I will try another location of this restaurant closer to where I live, I really enjoyed my meal!

Just stored by for a quick drink and appetizer to hold us over u.til dinner. Ordered the tapas appetizer to go with a couple beers and it was pretty good. The olive tapenade was great with the roasted garlic cloves. A Saints game was on tonight so it was a little louder but all good.

I was completely disappointed in our dinner this evening. I would have sent it back had I not been starving. I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon. The salmon was not fresh, in fact most likely frozen. It was over cooked and dry, despite the glaze. I was told by the waitress that they were out of quinoa and I decided to get the garlic spinach instead. I did not get either, I wound up with cranberry kale and flavorless green beans. Our waitress only checked on our table once during our entire meal. My husband ordered the lobster/shrimp tacos and they were bland with over cooked rice and unseasoned black beans that were just thrown on a plate. They had no presentation at all. The waitress was supposed to bring my husband a glass of water, which he never received and mine was never refilled. Sad thing is, we were celebrating his birthday and he had been wanting to eat here. Needless to say, we will not be eating there again and can definitely scratch that one off of our list as a fail!

I ate at this brewery for dinner, and the whole experience was great. Our server, Johnny, was awesome--super friendly, funny, and helpful. We asked him about their vegetarian options and he pointed out the best dishes. We ended up getting the veggie tacos (vegetarians take note, the black beans in the tacos are cooked in chicken stock), they were delicious. Their garlic fries are a must. We also got the goat cheese and artichoke flatbread that rounded out a savory meal. If you're in New Orleans and looking for a place to hang out and enjoy some nicely crafted beer and tasty food, definitely check this place out--and request Johnny as your server!

Terrible. The cheeseburger took 50 minutes and was barely warm. Wrong kind of fries. Didn't tell me that all food would be at least an hour. The night before had the rib eye. Nothing but fat on top of an enormous pile of garlic mashed that had no flavor and cold squash/zucchini mix. If you can't handle the crowd, don't open when it's busy. Never again.

Food and drinks are excellent. I typically try to say away from chain restaurants, but the food there is good quality and they have a large menu that will satisfy just about anyone. I've been there many times... Lately I had the seafood salad for lunch and it was very good. The shrimp could have been bigger and we sort of expect large shrimp around here. There were still enough and it was very fresh and tasty. I also love that they validate parking if you park in the Harrah's parking garage next door.

This was my second time at Gordon Biersch. I love that it is a close walk to pretty much anything. You can eat here and then walk a few blocks to the French Quarter. I like to get dressed up to go here but I've noticed quite a few people dress as if they are eating at a Mcdonalds. We start with either the southwest spring rolls or, my personal favorite, the crab and artichoke dip. The portions are huge and the chunks of crab are the biggest I've seen. Gordon Biersch does not skimp. The drinks are pricy but taste good if not a little strong. Our entrees were delicious although they arrived before our appetizer. That, along with the fact that our waiter addressed only my husband and kept staring at my breasts, is why its getting four stars.

I usually avoid chains but this place is perfectly located with a nice outdoor patio area to people watch. The food is good but the prices could be about 15% cheaper. Best to stick to the simple things, i.e. pizza and burgers.

So you think brewing their own beer is not a gimmick, a palatable artifice to make the stale interior a little less soulless. So you think having 6 (count 'em) hostesses standing around one particle board podium is a scheduling mistake. You think their bubbly contempt is a function of the stream of tourist oblivion that treads through the double black doors. You may even think the buxom blonde bartender is ignoring you because she simply doesn't see you, so enraptured with her witty retellings of last night's television finale. The reality is this tasteless chain leviathan trains their employees in concentration camps. Mocked up, barbed wire, hate-you-forever-for-walking-in-my-door prison camps designed to engender spite for the paying customer to which you have never known. They will ignore you. They will never bring your food. They will shove your check in a glass 4 barstools down and laugh at you for asking "where is my check?" All that can be taken away from this misery is: avoid this black shirt frozen entree Hell at all cost. Forever.

Wait was a little long considering it wasn't busy. Food was pretty good, wish my toast with my crab artichoke dip was toasted more. It was more like bread straight from the loaf.

I'm so torn on this place. They are NOT BAD. The food is good, but unimaginative, standard chain fare. The place is very clean, but nearly sterile in terms of decor. The staff is well rehearsed/professional, but not warm. They have a kids menu, but its not great for kids. The location is great, but parking can cost as much your meal. Its a very high-end Fudruckers/Chili's but you happen to be in the heart of a culinary wonderland so there are better options. I will say that I had an awesome experience a couple years back: I had a set of their beer steins which were broke by movers. I wrote the company HQ, asking how I could buy another set. They mailed me a set for free which was far beyond what I expected If you have a group, you'd better have a reservation; There are two spots which can be closed off for groups of 10-25. Good choice for a business lunch/dinner.

We went in last night after spending some time & money @ Harrahs. We had eaten earlier but had a few drinks at the Casino & wanted to have a nite to eat before heading home. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and I have to say it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had. We have eaten here before and love the salads. My husband loves their craft beers. Service food $ drinks were all very good.

Decent prices for the CBD. Decent food. Pretty good home made beers. Had many good experiences here. If the food was a little more exciting, I would go all the time.

What a surprise! My boyfriend and I stopped in while weary from walking during our vacation. Figuring it would be a decent enough meal from this restaurant chain we recognized from our hometown of Los Angeles, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of our choice of dishes. We share everything and the waiter was friendly and accommodated us by serving us separate plates of the chopped salad and Tuscan chicken pasta. The quality of the chicken was great. I definitely recommend this place.

Slow service and served us the wrong pizza after waiting 30 minutes! Ran out of beer glasses so they brought out the second beer in smaller plastic cups for the same price! Would not recommend going here!

This location seems to not be concerned with the retention of the return customer. My server was not helpful with suggesting a beer that would be suitable toward my tastes. I asked for something comparable to a Belgian wheat beer (Like Blue Moon). What I got was a dark as can be beer that was like coffee...No Bueno!! For 2 drinks and a appetizer the bill was right at $40...The food was okay but it was too late. I was done with this tourist trap. Crescent City Brewery in my opinion thought had a much better beer.

If you like good food, this is the place for you. They have some of the best steaks in the city, and I've never heard anyone I brought here say anything that wasn't complimentary about the meal they had. The service is great. They have viewing parties for sporting events, and don't let your drink go empty. As far as the drinks, they brew their own beer and root bear (both amazing). Even when I grab the food to go I get a root beer. Don't go if you aren't hungry, they have healthy portions.

The garlic fries were garlicky. Wow. Good burger. The atmosphere was good and our server was polite and prompt. I would go back and have some cocktails.

Open and airy, the brewery offers decent beers and a variety of typical pub food. I got the beer sampler and Cajun shrimp tacos. The Schwarzbier was my favorite beer, it was a dark brown color with a slight coffee finish. The Cajun shrimp tacos were delicious. The tacos were served in a crispy blue corn shell wrapped in a soft corn tortilla. Also served with a side of black beans and Jasmin rice, the tacos were outstanding. Also worth mentioning, the garlic fries that were recommended by the server!

I have to second the 9/24 review who says he's surprised by the negative reviews. My fiance and I went here tonight, we have lived in New Orleans for 4 years and never ate here before. We had the crab and artichoke dip (delicious, bit heavy on the mayo though), the BBQ chicken sandwich (standard but solid sandwich), garlic fries (pretty good fries), the brownie desert (standard again but delicious), and 2 heffenweiser (spelling) beers that were banana flavored. For the reviews that knocked the place for only having 6 beers....those I assume are the ones brewed in the place. When I lived in Atlanta there was a big brewery, and they only had about 6 options on tap. I'm not sure what you expect, perhaps you've never been to a brewery before? Service was fantastic, our meal was given to us out of order (entree before appetizer) and we got a free beer....the groupon we used was even applied to the pre-tax bill instead of the post-tax bill like most places. Very friendly staff....not sure what there is to dislike, it's pretty solid.

Friends, food and football. And beer. That was the on the menu for last night. Bunch of guys talking football and watching the HOF game. I had never been here, but I thought the interior space was nice for a glorified brewhouse. I also thought the service was a little slow, but the NY strip was pretty good. The Cobb salad looked much better than my Chicken Caesar salad. They do validate, so park in the Harrah's garage (enter on Convention Center Blvd) and take elevator down to first floor. Kinda pricey.

I've always enjoyed every visit to GB. It's loud and usually crowded, but it's a comfortable hustle and bustle that isn't annoying or anything. Attracted to GB at first because of the awesome park validation (24 hours!), I returned because of the food. Specifically: *garlic fries*. Another great appetizer are the fried calamari, served with a wasabi aioli. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches; I haven't ventured into the plate meals, such as the meatloaf or pasta. But I've had bites of it from my friends' plates and I've liked them. My favorite has to be the Kobe cheeseburger. Cooked medium rare, it was a wonderous explosion of beefy goodness in my mouth. {mouth watering}. The only thing I would change would be the bun, it doesn't go well with that wonderful cut of meat.--it seemed too cheap. Serve it on a challah bun or something, GB! It was like eating a ribeye steak in a hotdog bun. I've also had the grilled chicken/avocado/bacon on panini, served with a lemon aioli. Holy fat grams, Batman, I love it! Juicy, tasty chicken breast paired with applewood bacon, and slices of ripe avocado, topped off with swiss cheese and ranch--how can you go wrong? The service is always friendly and attentive. I find that they really try to talk to you and not just treat you as another table to serve; I really like that about the waitstaff at GB. I've been there for LSU/Saints games and it's really fun and rowdy.

Wife and I were hungry after walking the FQ. My wife had the Lobster/Shrimp mac and Cheese, I had the American Kobe burger and we shared the black bean egg rolls. My wife had their Heffewizen and I had their root beer. The beer was good. The root beer was a bit sweet. The egg rolls were slightly spicy but good. My wife loved...loved her M&C. My burger was good and there was lots of it. Somewhat expensive (M&C was $20; ER were $10 for 2 and the burger was $14). Good service and nice atmosphere.

Food was ok - our group was big and service slow but accurate. The lobster mac and cheese was more like lobster flakes playing hide and seek in over creamy sauce. The Garlic Fries were a yelp checkin offer and they totally screwed up the check. I'd pass on the place except it was late and convenient.

Food was bland and expensive. Service was awful. Our server acted like waiting on us was a huge imposition. She was horrible. (Too bad for you sister, as we tip around 30% for good service and up to 50% for great service. You didn't deserve the 10% we left you.) I respect wanting to keep the glass in the front doors clean, but perhaps try doing it when a bunch of people are not trying to go in and out. Seriously, train your staff. From the hostess at the front door, to the waitress, bartender and (I think) manager, everyone acted like they were miserable, it sucked.

I am slightly embarrassed to admit to both you all and myself that I've probably been to Gordon Biersch almost 50 times. Not that there is anything wrong with the place, I just think that's far too many times to visit any one place. Recently, my visits to Gordon Biersch have become fewer and farther between, but there was a time not too long ago when I was there more often that I could count. The biggest draw to the place is actually the validated parking available in the Harrah's Garage with a minimum $10 purchase. So many of my visits have been for drinks and appetizers before heading into the French Quarter for some other festivities. When I first discovered Gordon's, most of our meals were of the 5-star caliber. Now, it seems like most meals are of the 3-star caliber with the occasional 2-star disappointment or 5-star satisfier. When the kitchen is on its A-game, I love the garlic fries. I recommend the Southwest Eggrolls as a starter, they're definitely a favorite of mine, and the Bistro Steak Medallions with Crab Stuffed Shrimp as an entree. I also strongly recommend the Triple Chocolate Brownie for dessert. The menu really has an option for everyone-- salad, pizza, seafood, steak, pasta, burgers, sandwiches, and more. I can't not mention the craft beers, which also come highly recommended. The prices are a bit on the high side for what you get/what other options are available in the city, but there are great happy hour specials for both drinks and appetizers. There are a number of televisions throughout the bar area and restaurant for you to watch your sporting game of choice. There is also a private room for parties.

7/29/11 - To drink I ordered the "Reposado Tequila" Margarita and it was great. There are no frozen drinks at this place, therefore this was a Margarita on the rocks. For appetizer I ordered a cup of chicken gumbo. The gumbo was nicely presented and it had a good flavor. For entree I ordered a Kobe burger (medium) with garlic french fries. I was dissapointed with the burger, since it was well done, and therefore dry. The french fries werent that special either. A bunch of them were dark brown (too cooked). I am sorry but cooking a burger and french fries is basic stuff that a "cook" (vs a "chef") can handle. I like the decor of the place, but other than the Margarita, nothing else was special.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent trip. I've been to the South Carolina location and it was fantastic, but the service and food at this location were sub par. The beer was meh, go to crescent city brewhouse of you want some good microbrews. I went with my Roomate and both of our entrees had key ingredients missing. The lighting kept switching between dimmed and undimmed, and the server was incompetent.

Blah. It's a chain that's about its beer, which is average. For a chain, it's upscale compared to Chili's or Applebee's, but with all the food New Orleans has to offer, it's not really worth the wasted meal (that goes for locals and tourists). Their food is typical American fare--pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, seafood, steaks, etc. The ambiance is that of a large sports bar. It's a big, fairly loud restaurant with many televisions showing multiple games. I really don't recommend this place, but it's not like you'll get sick from going there.

Food here is totally unmemorable in a city know for it's cuisine. That's a sin in my opinion. Go a block or less in any direction in you'll find better. Questions?

At first glance this place seems like just touristy restaurant, as it's location is primed by the convention center and Harrah's. Welp, location worked for me! After walking around and noting crazy lines at popular NOLA cuisine restaurants we settled on Gordon Beirsch's since we were close. We were told it'd be around an hour wait, but were pleasantly seated after only 20 min (maybe this was their plan all along). The waitstaff were terrific and patient as we ordered since none of us were beer drinkers. This brings double points since it was a very busy day (bowl games). Even though I was trying to eat as much New Orleans inspired food as possible, this place's menu was massive enough to fill anyone's appetite. I got the lump crab cake sandwhich and it was delicious. I'd recommend this place to tourist or not.

The story you are about to read is true. 7:08 pm. My partner and I have had a rough day moving in a tradeshow and need a quick bite to eat. We are staying in the humble warehouse district and plan on making it out to some of the local fare later in the week. For tonight, we decide to play it safe and set the bar at a reasonable level. Gordon Biersch is indeed a chain, bar style restaurant, but that is a bit too cruel in my opinion. That places it in the same category as other bar chains typically named for days of the week like Tuesday's or Friday's. Biersch is as close to these as an internal affairs detective is to a beat cop. The one signature mark that draws me to Biersch like an under aged kid to a lenient liquor store clerk is their garlic fries. These are a sinful pleasure. Potato cut and slathered in a very generous amount of minced garlic. Enough to make the most eager date or vampire fanboy run for the spearmint. Now, could you find finer fare in the big easy? Of course you can. But is that really the point of a good review? You want to know if you are going to get your money's worth if you and your co-workers come here. I think that answer is yes. Not where I would take a date, but great if you are just off of the tradeshow floor and not quite up to the true, authentic New Orleans. This is a fine break from the Etouffee and Beignets.

This used to be a great place to go. They had a great beer selection and the food was good. Recently though, the food has gone down hill and they will advertise a certain kind of beer and then tell you that they aren't carrying it anymore. The last few times we have gone there to eat, it seems like something is wrong: the food is cold, takes over an hour to get your food or they completely forget you ordered in the first place. The garlic potatoes are great. It is a chain restaurant like Fridays but with a different feeling throughout the place. Don't try to reserve it for a special event, they never call you back.
